Outline of Exhibition Concept
Skid (single-channel video, 2min 30sec, 2021)

Inspired by racing games, I cast the stunt bike amateurs and filmed and edited their stunt riding. My work aims to show the disparity between the ideal and reality and design and actual representation. Through street racing, the work particularly emphasizes the discrepancy followed by the actuality that quickly deteriorates. While both are a part of the hierarchy, we cannot tell which one is in a higher state. In the real-life, their hierarchical orders have fallen apart.

레이싱 게임을 출발점으로 삼아, 아마추어 스턴트 바이크맨을 섭외하여 전반적인 스턴트 라이딩에 대해 촬영하고 편집했다. 이상과 현실, 디자인과 재현의 간극을 보여주고자 했고, 공도 레이싱을 통해 그와 같은 간극과 이에 따르는 열화된 현실을 강조하는 작업을 보여주고자 한다. 두 가지는 서로 위계를 가지고 있으나 무엇이 상위와 하위를 차지하는 지는 알 수 없다. 현실 안에서 그 서열이 무너지는 것이다.
