2018 Nantes Project

From 10 to 19 November (for nine nights and ten days) in the Island of Nantes (Île de Nantes) and the city of Nantes, France, the 2018 K’arts platform-Nantes ran the second project. The ten School of Visual Arts BFA and MFA students ( Ko Eun-bin, Kim Na-hyeon, Kim Bo-won, Park Seung-man, Song Soo-in, Lee Jae-hong, Lim Jung-soo, Jeong Yeong-hoon, Jo Do-hee, Hong Seok-pyo) researched the theme of “Shifting Cities and the Potential of Arts” under the direction of the K-Arts faculty, Kim Byung-chan (Associate Professor), Jo Hyeon (Assistant Professor), Lee Joo-yong (Professor), and Jin Hwi-yeon (Assistant Professor). The articipants

investigated the places of Nantes that were the successful cases of the Île de Nantes Urban Project, an urban regeneration project by the French government that had revitalized an old city of Nantes in the means of art and culture. Based on the individual research interests and topics, the students probed the city’s changes, history, and museums through field trips and workshops. The collection of research results came out to a publication.

2018 낭트 프로젝트

2018년도 두 번째 프로젝트는 전문사 및 예술사 졸업 학년 재학생 10명(고은빈, 김나현, 김보원, 박승만, 송수인, 이재홍, 임정수, 정영훈, 조도희, 홍석표)을 대상으로 김병찬 조교수, 조현 조교수, 이주용 교수, 진휘연 조교수의 지도 아래 ‘변화하는 도시와 미술의 가능성’이라는 주제로 9박 10일(11월 10일~19일) 동안 프랑스의 일 드 낭트 및 낭트 지역 전역에서 진행하였습니다. 참여자는 도시재생사업을 통해 문화예술이 도시에 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 데 성공한 대표적 사례인 ‘낭트 섬프로젝트’ 와 연계된 낭트의 곳곳을 돌아보며 도시의 역사, 미술관, 도시의 변화 등 개별 주제와 관심사에 따라 현장 리서치 및 워크숍을 진행했습니다. 그 연구의 성과는 결과집 출판으로 마무리하였습니다.
